Terms of Service - Neat Coat

Welcome to Neat Coat. We aim to provide a reliable, tidy, and high-quality decorating service you can feel confident in. These Terms explain how we work and what you can expect from us.

 

By confirming a booking, you agree to these Terms of Service.

 

1.About Us
Neat Coat provides painting and decorating services.

2.Our Service
We will carry out the decorating work as agreed during the quotation process. Each project is planned based on the areas and scope discussed. All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill, with a focus on achieving a clean, consistent, and professional finish.

3.Scope of Work
The quotation includes only the work specifically detailed within it. No assumptions should be made regarding the inclusion of any additional work beyond what is clearly stated. Any additional work requested may be subject to a revised quotation.

4.Quotation Validity
All quotations are valid for 7 days from the date issued, unless otherwise stated.

5.Preparation & Finish
Proper preparation is carried out before painting, including filling, sanding, and making good where required. A minimum of two coats will be applied as standard. Additional coats may be required to achieve full coverage and a consistent finish. Final results may vary depending on the condition of existing surfaces, previous coatings, and the overall condition of the property.

6.Colours & Materials
• You are responsible for confirming colour choices before work begins.
• We are not responsible for dissatisfaction with colour once applied.
• Where materials are supplied by the customer, we cannot guarantee their performance or finish.

7.Access & Property
You must ensure access to the property at the agreed times. Rooms should be reasonably cleared where possible. We will take care to protect floors, furniture, and surrounding areas, but we are not responsible for items that have not been moved or secured.

8.Cancellations & Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please provide as much notice as possible.

• Cancellations made more than 7 days before the scheduled start date will receive a full refund of any deposit paid.
• Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled start date will result in the deposit being retained.

Rescheduling requests are treated in the same way as cancellations.

9.Payment Terms
A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining 75% balance is due upon completion of the work, or within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed. We reserve the right to delay or reschedule work where the required deposit has not been received.

10.Timescales
Timescales provided are estimates and may be affected by factors outside our control, including drying times, weather conditions, and unforeseen surface issues.

11.Clean & Tidy Working
We aim to maintain a clean and tidy workspace throughout the project and will leave the area in a clean condition upon completion.

12.Damage & Liability
We will carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Any damage believed to have been caused must be reported within 24 hours so it can be investigated.

We are not responsible for:
• Pre-existing damage or defects
• Issues arising from underlying surfaces or previous work
• Items not removed or properly protected

Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights.

13.Health & Safety
We take reasonable steps to work safely. Decorating work may involve temporary and unavoidable hazards, including equipment, materials, and restricted access to certain areas during works. You are responsible for ensuring that occupants and visitors are aware that work is in progress.

14.Satisfaction & Snagging
At the end of the project, we will carry out a walkthrough with you to ensure you are satisfied with the work completed. If any issues are identified at this stage, we will address them promptly. Once the work has been completed and signed off, any additional visits or further work requested may be chargeable.

15.Cooling-Off Period
If you book our services without meeting us in person, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking. By confirming your booking, you request that work may begin within this period where applicable. If you cancel within this period, you will still be required to pay for any work carried out up to the point of cancellation.

16.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be provided with your quotation and made available on our website.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
